Cookies notice.

Effective: 1 July 2026. Version 2.1. This notice forms part of our Privacy policy.

1. What cookies are

1.1. Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device so that it can recognise the device on later requests. Some last only for a session ("session cookies"); some persist between visits until they expire or you delete them ("persistent cookies").

1.2. This notice covers cookies and every similar technology we use — tracking pixels, browser local and session storage, and software development kit (SDK) identifiers — together, "cookies". It also distinguishes first-party cookies (set by goldenbet888.co) from third-party cookies (set by another provider's domain through our pages).

2. Why we use them

2.1. Four reasons, in descending order of necessity: to make the Site work at all (sessions, security); to remember choices you have made (preferences, bet-slip state); to measure how the Site is used so we can improve it (analytics); and, for account holders who consent, to attribute and cap permitted marketing (marketing).

2.2. What we never use cookies for: profiling visitors who are not signed in for the purpose of inducing them to open an account; marketing to self-excluded or BetStop-registered individuals; or selling data to anyone.

3. Consent and the banner

3.1. Necessary cookies are always active — the Site cannot function without them, and consent is not required for them.

3.2. Every other category is off by default and activates only after you switch it on in the cookie banner shown on first visit. Your choice is stored locally (in the cookie_consent cookie) for 12 months, after which we ask again.

3.3. You can reopen the banner and change your choices at any time via the "Cookies notice" link in the footer. Withdrawing consent stops the relevant cookies from being set and, where technically possible, expires those already set; you can always also delete them in your browser.

4. Categories

  • Strictly necessary — session management, sign-in state, CSRF and other security tokens, load-balancing, storage of your cookie choices, and accessibility preferences. Always on.
  • Functional — conveniences you would notice losing: the contents of an unsubmitted bet slip, your odds-display and timezone preferences, and the rotation state of responsible-gambling messages (so you see the full set rather than one repeated). On by default only where strictly tied to a function you invoked; otherwise consent-based.
  • Analytics — aggregated, de-identified measurement of page performance and feature usage. Off by default.
  • Marketing — audience-segment identifiers and conversion attribution used solely for permitted communications to consenting account holders. Off by default, and never active for signed-out visitors beyond storing the fact that you declined.

5. Cookie inventory

5.1. First-party cookies:

5.2. Third-party cookies (set only with your consent):

5.3. The inventory is reviewed with each release. If a cookie appears that is not listed here, tell privacy@goldenbet888.co and we will investigate and update this notice.

6. Third-party providers

6.1. Google Analytics (GA4) — measurement of aggregated, de-identified usage. IP addresses are truncated/anonymised at collection; we have data-sharing with Google's own advertising products disabled. Google's practices: policies.google.com/technologies/cookies. A browser-wide opt-out is available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

6.2. Google Ads — conversion attribution only, for marketing shown to consenting account holders. You can manage Google's ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.

6.3. These providers act under their own privacy terms as independent controllers of the identifiers they set. We do not authorise their use for inducement of signed-out visitors, and no marketing tag fires for BetStop-registered or self-excluded users.

7. BetStop integration

7.1. Screening against the National Self-Exclusion Register (BetStop) — at sign-up, sign-in, deposits, marketing opt-ins and account reactivation — is performed server-to-server. It places no advertising or tracking identifier on your device. The only device-side artefact is the first-party betstop_check session cookie, which caches the screening result to avoid repeated lookups during one session.

8. Advertising restrictions

8.1. Any advertising-related cookie operates within the gambling advertising restrictions administered by ACMA and the States and Territories, including the prohibitions on inducements to open an account (e.g. s 33JA Betting and Racing Act 1998 (NSW)) and on marketing to minors. Cookies are never used to retarget a person who has not signed in with sign-up offers — we don't publish sign-up offers at all.

9. Managing cookies yourself

9.1. Beyond our banner, every mainstream browser lets you inspect, block and delete cookies:

  • Google Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site settings.
  • Mozilla Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Apple Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data (macOS) or Settings → Safari (iOS).
  • Microsoft Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions.

9.2. On mobile devices you can additionally reset or limit the advertising identifier in system settings (iOS: Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Privacy → Ads).

9.3. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Where your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as declining Analytics and Marketing cookies for that browser. Legacy "Do Not Track" headers are treated the same way.

10. If you block cookies

10.1. Blocking or deleting necessary cookies breaks core functionality: you will not be able to sign in, the bet slip will not hold selections, and security protections (CSRF) will fail closed — requests will be rejected rather than accepted unsafely.

10.2. Blocking functional, analytics or marketing cookies does not affect wagering functionality; you simply lose the conveniences or the measurement they provide.

11. Changes to this notice

11.1. We update this notice when our cookie usage changes and review it at least annually. The version and effective date at the top of the page tell you what you are reading; material changes are flagged to account holders by on-site notice, and a fresh consent is sought where a new non-essential purpose is introduced.

12. Related documents and contact

12.1. Read this notice together with the Privacy policy (how personal information collected via cookies is handled) and the Advertising code (how marketing is constrained). Questions and concerns: privacy@goldenbet888.co.
